RIVETS

Remote Alfresco API rivet

The Remote Alfresco API rivet (RAAr) is a Java based API for remote communication with the Alfresco repository.  If you are writing a Java application and require remote communication with Alfresco -- this library is for you.

RAAR is based on Alfresco Webscripts technology.

Seam Client for Alfresco rivet

The Seam Client for Alfresco rivet (SCAr) is a customizable, rich user interface alternative to the classic Alfresco interface. Built using the JBoss Seam Framework and Richfaces, SCAr provides a streamlined user experience.

SCAr is built on top of the Remote Alfresco API rivet.

Microsoft Outlook Alfresco Adapter rivet

An add-in to MS Outlook 2002/2003 that allows users to record emails from the Outlook interface to the Alfresco repository 1.3.x/1.4.x using web services.

Alfresco Web script Portlet rivet

The Alfresco Web script Portlet rivet (AWPr) is a JSR-168 portlet that can be used to expose remote Alfresco Web scripts, including those that need user authentication. This portlet alleviates the need for having to deploy all of Alfresco inside the portal as is the case when using Alfresco's OOTB (out-of-the-box) Web script portlet.

AWPr utilizes the Secure Token Authentication rivet (STAr).

TECH NOTES

  • Configure Alfresco for High Availability
This document details the steps required to deploy the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management application in Linux. The deployment supports high availability and is thus considered an Alfresco cluster.
  • Understand the API that Powers Alfresco WCM
We provide a few simple working examples that illustrate the use of new APIs included in the Web Content Management (WCM) module in Alfresco 2.0. Our purpose is to demonstrate a small portion of Alfresco's underlying capability that will be useful to developers who are just starting to use (or starting to evaluate) Alfresco for dynamic web site content management and content delivery. We assume the reader has some familiarity with Alfresco 2.0 and its WCM features; for those who do not, we recommend reading Alfresco's WCM Tutorial first.
